Crossroads – andito ako ngayon. Nasa punto ako ng buhay ko na kelangan kong gumawa ng maraming importanteng desisyon na makakaapekto ng malaki hindi lang sa buhay ko, kundi pati sa buhay ng maraming tao na nakapaligid at umaasa sakin. Pero ang masama, hindi ko alam kung ano ang dapat kong isipin at gawin. Nabibigatan ako sa kung ano man ‘tong nasa balikat ko ngayon. Aaminin ko na minsan, magsasawa na din ako sa dami ng responsibilidad. Minsan, tinatanong ko ang sarili ko kung bakit kelangang ako. At ang madalas kong naisasagot ay dahil sa gusto ko. Ako mismo ang dahilan kung bakit meron akong responsibilidad. Inako kong lahat ito. Kaya wala din akong pwede sisihin kung bakit ako nahihirapan ngayon. Kaya lang, gusto ko ring malaman na kung minsan ba, pwede na lang akong tumakas?

Shit happens. It’s the truth. But what I don’t get is why it happen to good people. Why it is that it is always people who have the kindest heart and the purest of soul who end up suffering? There are lots of fucked up things happening because of shitty bastards and their evil ways. Thieves, rapists, child predators, murderers… The list goes on. Why don’t they just all die and go to hell? Why don’t they just choke in their sleep and never wake up again? Why don’t they get sick and suffer for years before they finally succumb to the cruel death they very much deserve? Why is it that it always happen to good people? Good people who have never done anything to cause other people even the slightest of misery. Good people whose only intentions are good and pure in nature. Good people who go the extra mile to make sure that people around them are happy all the time. Good people who love us and care about us despite the things we have done. Good people that we love.

May 21, 2011. 3:25 AM. My Lola, the best person in the world, passed away. Lola will be missed, not just by me and my family, but by all the people whose hearts she touched in the span of her wonderful and happy life. I don’t believe in all that afterlife BS, but I know that Lola is happy because she is fulfilled because her life affected so many lives. I am proud to say that my Lola is that kind of a person. And I am proud that I am one of those people whose life she affected.

So to my Lola, thanks for everything. I will miss our simple chats. I will miss your smile. I will miss you.

It’s been almost a year since my last post here. And that was not even regular posting in my part. Just got too busy with work, family and other shit that I lost time for this humble blog. But looks like I’ll be back now (hopefully for good).

Now that I finally found an app for wordpress for my phone, I’ll try hard to update this blog as much as I can. And to start off, here it is. My first post, after that long hiatus, and using my Nokia E71.

Hopefully this is the start of another chapter on my blogging life.

Ondoy Can Suck It!

It’s been a few months since I last posted in this blog. And unfortunately, this post will be about a tragedy.

As most of people in Metro Manila, me and my family was among the victims of Typhoon Ondoy that hit NCR and nearby provinces. Our house was submerged in murky water knee-deep. But worse was the family of my baby in Angono who as of this post still has their house covered in mud after flood got into the second floor of their home.

With the death toll reaching to 240+, people are yet to recover from this tragedy. But of course, this too will be a reminder to everyone that when nature shows its wrath, it ain’t going to be pretty.

This post is dedicated to all the victims of Typhoon Ondoy, especially to all the lives that were lost.

Or so I thought…

I can’t really call it a near-death experience. Pero I guess it was close to that. I was on my way to work, as as usual I have to take a boat ride along Pasig River to go from Mandaluyong to Makati. Tapos biglang nagdatingan yung mga bangkang di hamak na mas malalaki sa bangkang sinasakyan ko. And like me, everyone smell trouble. Halos naipit kami nung mga mamalaking bangka, two of them actually, yung Pasig Ferry Boat and a huge cargo boat being hauled by a couple of tugboats. Medyo malakas na din yung alon and judging from the size of the boat I was on, halatang hindi kakayanin. Added the fact na it was just a few inches away from the other boat with huge and fast spinning propellers na kayang butasin yung bangka. Looking at the two big boats passing us by, giving all of us in the small boat the ride of our lives, dancing with huge waves, the next thing na naramdaman ko ay yung pagbangga nung bangka sa isa pang bangkang nakaparada sa tabi. BANG! All I was thinking of is sana hindi nabutas yung bangka or we’ll all be toasted, err, wet. At dahil mabaho at madumi yung ilog, mas nakakatakot.

Well, obviously nothing really serious happened kasi andito pa ako typing away on this post. I caught everything on video kaso I’m too lazy to upload it os next time na lang, if ever. But I must say, it was an exciting experience nonetheless.
