Movies, Movies… (K-movies)

September 23, 2008

Medyo konti lang yung pelikulang napanood ko this weekend kasi nga busy ako with my birthday. Anyway, dalawa lang ito pero they’re both good naman… K-movies kasi both the titles start with “K”, and not because they are Korean. hahaha!

Kickin’ It Old Skool

Fast Review: I actually decided to watch this movie because Bobby Lee is on it. And sadly, he didn’t have that much participation on the film. But still, this movie with Jamie Kennedy on the helm, still managed to garner a few laughs from me. Nakakatuwa lang din kasi medyo nostalgic yung movie of the 80s, which to me is the best time for the kids with all the awesome music, TV, movies and basically pop culture.

Kubrador

Fast Review: Finally napanood ko na din ang pelikulang ito ni jeff Jeturian. I’ve actually had plans to watch this obra a few times already in the past, including yung mga screenings niya sa different film festivals. Pero laging merong alberya. And now that I was able to grab a copy, napanood ko na nga. I actually loved the movie, especially the eerie feeling everytime the dead soldier comes up. Though medyo sablay yung technicals nung film, nadala talaga nung acting especially of Gina Pareno. Sa technicals, the only thing I liked was the fact that there are so many long takes na ginagawang one shot which is very difficult, granting na yung location is some slum area like that. But still, they were able to pull it off. Probably napanood na ito ng karamihan, pero sa mga hindi pa nakakapanood, I definitely recommend you watching this one. A different Gina Pareno that everyone will surely fall in love to…

Metallica’s new album is out, Death Magnetic. I was able to listen already to the songs from the album and I’m glad to report that it sounds more like Metallica this time, as compared to the last shitty album, St. Anger. This is the first single from that album. Hope you all like it too…

The Day That Never Comes

Born to push you around
You better just stay down
You put away
He hits the flesh
You hit the ground
Maps so fulls of lies
Tend to black your eyes
Just keep them close
Keep praying
Just keep waiting

Waiting for the one
The day that never comes
When you stand up
And feel the warmth
But the sunshine never comes
No the sunshine never comes

Push you cross that line
Just stay down this time
Hiding yourself
Crawling yourself
You’ll have your time
God I’ll make them pay
Take it back one day
I’ll end this day
I’ll spread the color
On this grave

Waiting for the one
The day that never comes
When you stand up
And feel the warmth
But the sunshine never comes
No the sunshine never comes

Love is a four letter word
And never spoken here
Love is a four letter word
Here in the prison
I suffer this no longer
I put it into
This I swear
This I swear
The sun will shine
This I swear
This I swear
This I swear
