Fiesta (Baka Part 1 of Many)

Piyesta sa amin last weekend. And it was just a good timing kasi nga meron akong long weekend dahil wala kaming work last Friday. Dahil dun, medyo mas na-enjoy ko yung bakasyon at yung fiesta sa amin. Actually, the celebration started last Wednesday night pa kasi there was this stage that they set up so they can have all sorts of programs and competitions. Merong amateur singing contest and dance contest which ran from that day until Saturday, which was the eve before the real fiesta. Medyo napuyat ako dahil napipilitan akong manood kasi nga medyo maingay at medyo mahirap matulog. So instead of being bored inside the house, I just chose to hang around with my cousins and watch the “actions unfold”. The best night for me was yung Saturday night where I saw this dance group called Fire Exit perform a showgirl-type routine with a girl dressed up in a scantily Darna costume. The dance, which we called “buwis-buhay” (sorry John Lapuz, pahiram lang ng term sandali), was amazing kasi they kept on throwing that little petite girl  into the air, while she does this acrobatics just like what we see on cheerleading competitions pero mas mukhang delikado. But the real highlight of their performance, and of the night for me, is when out of nowhere, she was already on the rooftop of the police detachment office. The establishment is 2-storey high and from there, the girl jumped and did a flip, landing on her fellow dancer’s waiting arms. Talk about bteathtaking, death-defying stunt. And she is just a girl. And guess what, I saw a YouTube video of one of their performances so you guys can check out what I am talking about…
