Buto’t Balat…
July 28, 2007
Naalala ko lang, I was able to watch Sine Totoo last Saturday which showed Kara David’s docu “Buto’t Balat.” I thought malnutrition is not that big of a problem for Filipinos unlike the people of Africa.

Sobrang nakakagulat saka nakakalungkot.

i am an avid drinker and consumer of Starbucks, and maybe you can call me a fashionista sometimes but I never meant to left out those people who need my help. actually, one reason why starbucks has its price so high it’s because they have spark hope, their unicef partner on helping to educate the Filipino children. they have donation boxes inside each store and you’re guaranteed that you’re helping the Filipino people even on that kind of situation.
and so I hope that you wouldn’t judge starbucks goers and also that you to misinterpret this message, because I know that there are a lot of people not aware of spark hope and the works.

i just have one question… why can’t you, jonver, just make yourself a cup of nescafe coffee at home instead of buying Starbucks? the money you save there, maybe give it to your so-called charity. my point is that, why can’t people just be satisfied with simple things, instead of extravagant ones. why can’t they just stop for a second and think about hungry people before splurging with their so-called “needs” in life.
can you even understand THAT?!

ewan ko poh ba pero when I watched that Buto’t Balat by Kara David, i just felt sad because kylngn poh pla tlgng pagtuunan ng pansin ang problema na iyon sa ating bansa. pero anu poh ang gngwa ng iba, they just ignored it then they just focused on the other problems of our country that doesn’t need that much attention. thanks poh!
